Ｑ：ブリスベン日本学園は、どんな学校ですか。
Ａ： クイーンズランド州教育省の支援により、現地校の学期中、毎週土曜日の午後2時から、
州立高校（Mt Gravatt State High School）の校舎を使って日本語の授業を行っています。
Q: What kind of school is JLCSB (Japanese Language and Culture School of Brisbane)?
A: The school is officially recognised by the Queensland Education Department as an
after-hours Japanese ethnic school (AHES).
Q: Where and when are classes held?
A: With the support of the Queensland Department of Education, Japanese classes are held every
Saturday at 2:00 pm in the Mt Gravatt State High School.
Ｑ：ブリスベン日本学園の創立者はどんな人ですか。
Ａ： ブリスベン日本学園は、特定の個人によって創立された私立学校ではありません。
複数のボランティアによって、ＮＰＯの学校として設立されました。クイーンズランド州で 増加傾向にある
日系の永住者家庭のお子さんたちのため、有志が集まって2006年7月に開校しました。現在も、ボランティアと
保護者たちの協力体制が学校運営の原動力となっています。
Q：Who founded the JLCSB?
A: It was founded in July 2006 by several volunteers, and it continues to be made possible
by the cooperation of parent volunteers.
Ｑ：どんな先生たちが教えていますか。
Ａ：日本語を教えるための正式な資格、または豊かな教授経験を持った日本人の先生たちです。
Q: What kind of teachers are employed by the school?
A: Japanese teachers who have formal qualifications to teach Japanese, or have a lot of experience
teaching Japanese.
Ｑ：どんな生徒が来ていますか。授業はむずかしいですか。
Ａ：現地校のプレップから12年生までの生徒たちです。 授業は全て日本語で行われますが、先生たちは各クラスの
生徒の日本語力に合わせて楽しい授業をするよう心がけています。日本語の4技能（聞く、話す、読む、書く）の発達を
目標として、日本の文化（お習字、そろばん、音楽、季節の行事など）についても楽しく学べる授業を行います。
Q: What kind of students attend JLCSB? Is the curriculum difficult?
A: Local school students enrolled in local schools from prep to grade 12. All classes are conducted in
Japanese and teachers create a suitable classroom environment for students of all levels.
With the goal of developing four skills in Japanese (listening, speaking, reading, writing), the school offers
classes where students enjoy learning about Japanese culture (writing, soroban [abacus], music, seasonal
events, etc.).
Q: いつからでも入学できますか？
Ａ：はい、いつからでも可能です。
入学時期はオーストラリア現地校と同じ１学期からが一番入学者が多いですが、どの学年においても途中入学が可能です。

Q: Can a student enrol at any time?
A: Yes. Most students enrol from the start of the first semester, which is the same as local schools in Australia,
but enrolment is possible at any time for any grade. Please feel free to contact us
