What is KEISHOGO 繋生語?

The term KEISHOGO (繋生語) is read the same way as "Keishogo" (継承語), or Heritage Language. "Keishogo" (継承語) plays an important part in the discussion of migrants’ heritage language. KEISHOGO (繋生語) includes the meanings of the term "Heritage Language” (継承語), but also suggests language that can be widely connected, create new meanings, and evolve.

KEISHOGO (繋生語) is defined as the language that is born from connections with parents, family, and friends, and that creates further connections, generates new meanings, and passes these connections on to the next generation
